With more than 15 years in HR, Ellen Slane is passionate about helping nonprofits build workplaces that can support their mission. Come hear Ellen speak on the 5 HR Trends that nonprofit leaders can’t ignore.
Meet the Speaker
Ellen Slane, PHR, SHRM, has been in the Human Resources field for over 15 years working across industries in manufacturing, construction, and service. She has been an HRCI-certified professional since 2012 and earned her SHRM Certified Professional designation in 2015. She’s a University of Tennessee, Knoxville grad (Go Vols!) with a degree in Advertising and a minor in Business Administration. A big SEC football fan, she never misses a chance to cheer on her Volunteers.
She’s also passionate about workplace mental wellness. In 2022, she earned her Mental Health Ally Certification through PsychHub and became certified in Adult Mental Health First Aid, allowing her to better support employees and organizations in fostering a healthier workplace culture.
Ellen started her role at Employers Advantage LLC as a HR Business Partner and because of her business acumen, HR Expertise and overall respect of her clients and team members, Ellen now serves as the VP HR Operations.
Beyond her professional work, Ellen is actively involved in volunteering with nonprofit organizations. She understands the unique HR challenges nonprofits face—balancing mission-driven work with budget constraints, board oversight, and workplace best practices. She’s passionate about helping nonprofits build strong, people-focused workplaces that align with their mission while navigating the complexities of HR.
