Field Notes: What the Outdoors Has Taught Me About Life and Business

Inspired by Henry David Thoreau’s words, my family and I embarked on a mission to visit a national or state park each month. On a recent hike at Roan Mountain, I was reminded of the importance of having a map – both in the woods and in life. Without a map, we can wander aimlessly, unsure of how far we’ve come or where we’re headed. In life and business, clear plans and goals help guide us toward success, just as a map ensures we stay on course in the wild.
